Fake Blood - Theme
It seems that everyone is puzzled as to who Fake Blood actually is/are. Well it's Sang Foley and not Boy 8-Bit :P
For those patiently waiting to get their hands on a 'Mars' record, here's Fake Blood's 'Theme' to keep you happy for a bit. Out on Counterfeet soon (HURRY UP!!).

There is a difference between him letting you hear it and you having a full quality copy for free.

Fair play for trying to keep this off the blogs.
It was removed because Sang emailed me about it and was pretty pissed off. I feel that blogs are nothing more dangerous than free press to artists, and a very large amount of people would never get to hear their tracks BUT, I completely respect his wishes and the track was removed.
However, this will not stop me posting any future tracks from him or any other artist I choose. I've been threatened by the Rolling Stones manager/lawyers for a previous track (which was scary) but so what? The way I see it is that these artists are leaking tracks left right and centre for nothing more than their own gain.
Embrace it or hate it, that's the way it is round here.

Ever thought about checking with the artist first BEFORE posting? Wouldnt hurt, would it? Especially when you know the track is on the verge of release, is highly sought after and has been taken down off other blogs before.
I totally agree that blogs are good press, but you've got to respect the artist. I'm sure fake blood has a perfectly good reason for not wanting this out and I really really doubt that he doesnt want you to hear it.
Also the argument that you are only helping people to hear it doesnt really wash in this case. This track is hyped to death and people can hear it if they track down various mixes on the net. Its more like people are trying to get points by posting it first.
On a lot of forums people are talking about actually wanting to wait for this release, which is pretty cool in my opinion. Its refreshing to have something to look forward to instead of just reading about it, heading over to hype machine and downloading it straight away. Its boring when a track gets leaked and everyone plays it for 2 weeks then it dies.
Plus its quite amusing to see everyone getting pissed off about it being removed all the time.

It's good to get some (controversial) comments on the tracks now and then :)
One one hand I've got really nasty lawyers threatening me, and artists pissed off at me, and on the other hand I've got artists sending me promos/cds to blog, and record labels praising our posts, but kindly asking to wait or lower the bitrate.
It's a no-win situation. I personally can't speak for other blogs, but we don't post tracks here to try and beat other blogs to it. We pay for our hosting, and dedicate time to ptnotr because we love music and the artists mentioned. We try and post what's hot, what (usually) we are allowed, and what the bloggers want.

Well why dont you post the artists who have asked you to promote their material and ask for permission from the ones that havnt personally sent you their track?
Support the artists and get people to buy the stuff rather than giving away playable quality tracks
Simply because there are companies who get paid a lot of money by the artists to do that as their full-time job. We don't.

Sang - Another name for blood eg. Sanguine
Foley - Artificially reproducing (some could even say faking) natural sounds or effects (what a foley room is for). Also sounds like Faux

As I was able to download this before it was taken offline, i was able to judge the track thoroughly. I don't know what all the fuss is about, because I will be getting the track on 12" soon.
In reference to the comment about his name... It could be that's where he got the idea for calling himself Fake Blood, rather than using Foley as another alias. But who knows
I too posted 'Mars' by Fake Blood, and received an email from him. He was polite and thanked me for my kind words regarding his material. And he calmly asked for me to remove 'Mars', but didnt mind about the many remixes I had posted: fair enough. And I am now more careful to post original material of artists especially if it's about to be released. I'm sure Fake Blood is aware that the blogs have helped hype him, but there comes a point when the blogs are just screwing u over.
