Dragonette is made up of Canadian singer Martina Sorbara, her husband Dan Kurtz, Joel Stouffer and Will Stapleton. Martina is a successful singer-songwriter in Canada, and Dan Kurtz a member of the popular livetronica trio The New Deal. All of the band members, with the exception of Will Stapleton (born in London), are from Toronto, but now they all live in West London. The band have just completed their debut album Galore, will be released in July. It contains many of the songs featured on the Dragonette EP, most of which have been rerecorded and reworked. "Martina Bang" also sang on the 2006 Basement Jaxx single, "Take Me Back to Your House" which she also co-wrote and appears in the video for. As blogged before, Midnight Juggernauts remix of "I Get Around" is provided on the Kitsuné Maison 4 Compilation. This one, "Take it Like a Man" is their next single containing remixes by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke , Felix Cartal and... Kissy Sell Out! IMHO, This is the best remix Kissy ever did. At this moment, I've listened this track about 30 times and still.. that break.. Amazing. F#cking amazing. Dragonette - Take It Like A Man (Kissy Sellout's Horror Sequel) (radio rip) (zshare link)
Uffie is hot, that's a fact! For the music, you've got lovers or haters... I love the tracks Mr Quentin "Oizo" Dupieux produced, but I don't really like the Feadz tracks! This is the latest Dupieux produced and I love it! It's not as badass as the other stuff but it's sensible and great for summer!
Can anyone help us with the intro, I know it from somewhere... (makes me think of some pet shop boys stuff or the intro of the italian track 'i maschi'...)
Well since someone leaked and torrented '†ha†' album, I reckon a lot of people have been stressed out with the new material from The China & The Moustache. However, in a buzzing, distorted haze, i've managed to kick back and relax to a bit of something just as special. Australia's Cut Copy - as you may or may not know have had their 'Heart's On Fire' remixed by the wonderful Joakim. The laid back moogy arpeggios, deep bass and old school samples are great, but the New Order style vox and soothing saxophone in the second half of the track are the icing on the cake.

I just received the new Justice album †, and it's fucking awesome (as I had expected). Just now, I'm at work on my lunch break, and don't really have the time for a track-by-track review at the moment, but my iPod is sooooo happy right now! Enjoy x

EDIT BY FISTFUNK: Ever since I first heard "Stress", I had the feeling an Emmanuel Top rave classic was inside of this track just screaming to get out. Listen to my Acid Phase Edit and judge for yourself.
After going through the pictures taken on sunday (30 or so snaps), it seems that just about any picture or video clip taken from inside the booth came out total bollocks, due the condensation of the lens due to heat in the club. The walls were literally running with sweat. Thanks to Roppenzo for Youtubing my videoclip as I walked back in to the club from a fag break (getting stopped by bouncers too!), through the bar and club room 2, to going upstairs into the main room catching Erol working the sebastiAn track.
Erol's set was pretty damn heavy compaired to last time I seen him, but was still amazing. I left him with an edit of Diplo's Golddigger, and within a few seconds he'd started elbow scratching over it, before slamming into his set. At one point he lifted the Xone mixer up to the crowd then sat it on it's side and started chopping away at it, while setting off some amazing loops on the CDJs. He even mixed in a bit of Radiohead and was getting all emo in the booth dancing about. The full version Patrick122 went down great, and after a few of his own remixes and more well-known bangers(Hot Chip, Scissor Sisters, Duke Dumont etc) he finished his set with a battered and looped Waters of Nazareth to an awestruck crowd.
Here's a few of the pictures that turned out.
As you can see, my camera had enough of the heat and fogged up!! If I manage to get any other good pictures, and hopefully a copy of the DAT, i'll post them, along with his 2hr set in the near future.
We love Shadow Dancer for a long time now! and finally they get what they deserve! Alex Ridha signed them for a QUALITY EP! The (still unnamed) ep with the tracks "Poke", "End Hit, "Daytime Drinking" and "Are You Now" will probably be released in July! YAAAY!
this is an older demo track, soon to feature in a tv commercial! you can buy it at Beatport
The Loose Cannons are Kaiser Saucy, Lord Fader, Sas Ouffey, Yummy Polestar, Pistaccio K, The Priapus, Wood On, Country Gent and Swordsman. Kaiser Saucy & Lord Fader ( the faces behind this up and coming force of nature ) were once bestowed upon the most beautiful of burdens by celestial behemoth Sir Bootsy Collins ; keep the funk alive, fellas he said. Thus The Cannons were forged from the very elements of the Musical-Cosmos. From that day on Fader and Saucy have worked every-damn-day as funktopic missionaries, striving in their own small way, justo make a difference, man.
The two are doing a radioshow @ Kiss 101 every thursday night from 23.00 till 1.00.

'Let's Make Love & Listen To Death From Above' will be released in the UK on May 14. There are some great remixes by Calvin Harris, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco, which will be available on the physical formats and as downloads..
'Lets Make Love...' is a joyous mash-up of styles, with a guitar riff and pulsating bassline so infectious, so instant, it hurts. Much has been made of the fact that Lovefoxxx wrote the lyrics of this track so that her then favourite band (Death From Above 1979) could google themselves and stumble across a then-unknown CSS and their tribute to the now-defunct duo. But the end result way overshadows that detail. A Tom Tom Club-esque 80’s electro vibe bleeds into synths, and Luiza’s guitar bridge, all expertly bound together and overlaid by Lovefoxxx’s sultry spoken vocals.
Well' I've posted the Calvin Harris remix before and this time some more samples are available @ Loop 23
I'm the kind of guy that spends his entire Summer in Belgium -no matter how lousy the weather- just to attend as much festivals as possible. That's because we're spoiled like a brat out here, with affordable, quality dance marathons like Dour, Ten Days Off, and last but most notably, Pukkelpop. I had a look at the list of confirmations of the last mentioned, and if you're a fan of this blog then start cancelling your plans for August 16-17-18th (2007) and book your train/plane/automobile to Hasselt because you DON'T want to MISS this. Heavy hitters from the Ed Banger stable, Dewaele brothers & friends, skin-crawling techno live-sets, quality indie bands,... You just name it, Chokri booked it. Here's the list so far:

Looks like the Boilerroom and Dancehall are once again gonna reach the boiling point and erupt! I'll see you up front, like this guy at Justice's first live gig (@ Coachella 2007, track: Genesis)...
New Justice track has four capital letters printed in gold
D.A.N.C.E. means "dance". B.E.A.T. stands for, duh, "beat". But color me red and call me L.E.D., I have no idea what D.V.N.O. stands for.
It's a recently radio-broadcasted track from Justice's upcoming "†" album. Apart from the song's subject, I'm also still trying to figure out who's on the vocals. His voice sounds so familiar... French maybe? Help me out with your comments.
Anyway, D.V.N.O. is also my ticket into the PTNOTR blog ;) After being bloggedabout before and sharing sometips with Roppenzo, I'm now behind this mothership's control panel myself. Expect the occasional "exclusive" and record box suggestions from yours truly.
PS: I really suggest you all reply to this forum topic. Just do it.
My bad. I haven't posted for a while on here, but can honestly say i've been rather busy lately (work, pub, club, sleep etc).
Last time I played at the Splash, I supported Riton, to a rather small crowd, which was no way his fault - his set was mind-blowing (and such a great guy). Tonight however, shall be different, possibly legendary. All tickets have sold out, and it's Erol Alkan who's going to be rinsing the soundsystem!. He has previously blown the dance tent up at the Jerseylive! festival last year with his dynamite mix of indie and electro-crossovers, plus majestic CDJ manipulation.
Since landing the support for tonight (alongside Warren, head honcho of Jerseylive!), i've been choking for this day to come. My bags are packed, my CDRs and Traktor fully locked and loaded and i'm just about to get my shit together and head out for the calm before the storm. I'm FUCKING BUZZING to say the least. The crowd at the Splash are fantastic, the soundsystem is just sooo fucking loud - it's got to be one of the best old skool-type venues going. It's a fucking boom box.
All things going well, i'll be back on PTNOTR when I recover, with some pics and clips of the night.
They're doing livesets (laptops, guitars, synths, cowbells ands anything that goes wiauuuuuahhz ) Plus.. they also DJ.. This one's is from their forthcoming ep;
So you might have noticed my opinion about the dance scene in my home country over the last couple of months.. I totally hate it. So I was really surprised when I found out a good tune I heard on the radio was a remix done by a guy from Holland, going by the name of "Rogerseventytwo" .. I asked him some questions about the scene, himself and other stuff..
So what's your opinion about the Dutch dance-scene?
It's mostly mainstream.. Holland is well known for it's Trance music ofcourse, which is logical, 'cause creative producers are hard to find around here.. The underground scene (such as the Ed Banger, Kitsune, Institubes stuff) in Holland is not big at all. Around here, it's just a small group of people who bring the "french" sound.. .. And I realy like to keep it this way.. Underground.
Who are your favourite producers these days?
My favourite producer from last year has to be without a doubt, SebastiAn.. The man is underrated by most people or maybe just overrated by me.. In my opinion he's a producer who manages to get his own unique sounds in every track. Melodic sounds in his remixes, creative beats and a lot of whipping sounds in his own stuff.. When I hear Justice-tracks I must admit that they're the most talented Ed Bangers to do the chart stuff. The way they keep producing new, fresh and contagious sounds is just pure genius. Also Teenage Bad Girl, often seen as the underdog, certainly belongs to my top producers at the moment..
Wassup with '72?
It just stands for the seventies as the whole decade.. The 70's really inspires me a lot.. When I'm down or just outta inspriration, I just put on some old 70's tunes and I'm back in business..
You are throwing a party with Teenage Bad Girl right?
Jupz. The thing is called WE LOVE:...TEENAGE BAD GIRL.. It's a party I'm organizing with my DJ-partner "The Walk" next saturday.. Teenage Bad Girl will give their first performance ever here down in Holland. More info: below.
After first posting a 2-minute snippet, then later including it in a teaser mix for his next EP, Mr. Oizo has finally uploaded the entire version of Patrick122 to his MySpace today. The track borrows heavily from "Do it at the disco" by Gary's Gang, but halfway through it turns into a real dancefloor stomper by cutting up the original song's distinct sax sample.
Big thanks goes out to Fistfunk for being such a good messenger :-P
Talking 'bout Ed Banger.. You'll probably remember that unknown Uffie track we had on our blog a few months ago.. Yesterday I got told it's not a Uffie track produced by Feadz or Oizo, it's a Justice track !(featuring Uffie)... It's track 8 ("The Party") from Justice's album that will be released June 11.
